Summer Solstice - Charmouth East beach

On 21st June members of the various classes in and around Charmouth, Dorset, met on Charmouth East beach for early morning tai chi and qigongs to greet the Summer Solstice. Some 20 people came along - we spent a great hour and a half sharing energy and ending with a champagne breakfast on the beach.

Moira tells us they had a great day in Edinburgh. Laurent and about a dozen of his l'art du chi students met in The Meadows at 2pm. For the next couple of hours we practiced the 11 Chinese Exercises, the Yang style short form and, encouraged by the sunshine, the Yang style long form.

Tai Chi in The Park Last Sunday in June
Tai Chi Union of Great Britain (TCUGB) is organising a day of Taijiquan to promote Taiji and other internal martial arts in the local community. Instructors, practitioners and friends will meet in various parks in Grea Britain to enjoy a day of Taiji, just as it is traditionally done in China. Taijiquan, a Chinese martial ar harmonising body mind and spirit, is becoming popular in this country as more people realise the healt benefits it can bring

Revitalise
Wednesday 07 June 2006 at 7:01 pm The Royal Parks will be holding a weekend of sport, fitness and health for over 45’s at our community sports facility The Hub in Regent’s Park on 22nd & 23rd July.The weekend event “Revitalise”, will involve a two day programme of sports, nutritional advice, fitness demonstrations and taster sessions, health checks and fun activities for men and women over 45.
The activities proposed include
- A mass participation tai-chi event on the mound
- Demonstrations of Tai Chi etc
The Tai Chi Union has accepted an invitation to participate and our involvement will be on a rolling schedule on both days from 12 noon till 1700.
Reasonable expenses will be paid for all participating members. Interested parties please contact Rod Jacob or by phone07957418046, giving contact details and day and time slots they would like to fill.

This is a good opportunity to increase our profile at a major London event, so please bring your students to support it.
